From 23rd October to 20th November the Lakes celebrate the dark. Night walks in Grizedale, canoeing under the stars on Coniston Water and a stargazing swim on Ullswater, all under one of the darkest skies in England.

On Saturday 24th October the Winter Droving marks fifteen years of magic, masquerade and fire in Cumbria 🔥
This year the Droving comes to Carlisle as part of Carlisle Carnivale.
As dusk falls the torches are lit and a procession of lanterns and masked faces winds through the streets to the beat of drums. And by day there are dogs in fancy dress and the riotous Drovers` Cup.
This is an unmissable uniquely Cumbrian spectacle.
