Hawkshead Christmas Market Fair 2026

The Hawkshead Christmas Fair returns this year on 6 and 7 December 2026.

This popular festive event fills the village with stalls, food, and fun for all ages.

It runs from 10am to 4pm each day in the heart of the village with no entry fee for adults or kids.

Visitors come to shop for gifts, eat Xmas treats, and enjoy the festive mood in this famous Lake District village.

When is the Fair? Dates and Times

The fair takes place on Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December 2026.

It opens at 10am and closes at 4pm both days.

Entry is free for everyone and dogs are welcome.

The fair happens in centre of Hawkshead village in the Lake District National Park, you can use this map to find your way.

Over 50 stalls sell handmade crafts, local produce, and gifts.

Vendors offer items like food, gifts, art, jewellery, and decorations.

Activities and Entertainment

Live music and street performers entertain visitors all weekend.

Santa’s grotto is open for children. On Saturday, a lantern parade leads to Christmas carols in the village square.

How to Get There

Reach Hawkshead by car on the B5285 road.

Public transport includes the 505 bus from Windermere station, Ambleside, or Coniston.

The bus stops near the village centre.

Parking and Accessibility

A main car park sits outside the village with 183 spaces, including 11 for disabled users.

Pay by phone or card. The village centre has no cars, so walk from the car park.

Extra parking is available during the fair.

Arrive early to find a space the fair is very popular, especially if the weather is good for the time of year.
