Property details

Welcome to The Wild Nook, a first floor super stylish apartment in a former gentleman’s residence built in the 1900’s and converted to apartments in 1989.  Nestled just outside the charming village of Bowness-On-Windermere, fifteen minutes away on foot or just a five minute car ride, the property is set in three and a half acres of grounds with lake views and a tennis court, the perfect hideaway for a tranquil escape in the Lake District.

The original estate was purchased by a very famous Lakeland Builder, Henry Pattinson, who built the mansion for the Kenworthy family.  Across the years it was used as a school, a hotel and Bowness’s very first cinema.  There was even a private Zoo in the grounds during the Kenworthy ownership!

Jump on a Ferry and explore the path to Wray Castle or take one of the many walks nearby. Orrest Head and School Knott are fantastic for a leisurely stroll or a challenging hike. And if you fancy a day by the water, Lake Windermere is also just a short walk away where you can catch a boat for a tour around the Lake.
