Welcome to Tyson Place, those of you who know Ambleside will remember Tyson’s shoe shop which has been part of the Tyson family for 140 years.  The family have completely renovated the apartment above the shop making it a perfect holiday escape with fell views right in the heart of Ambleside! The apartment is spread over 2 floors and enjoys picturesque views towards Loughrigg from the bedroom, balcony and the living room.

Cosy and Modern Living Spaces

Step into Tyson Place through your own private entrance. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a door code for easy access. Once inside, head up to the second floor, where you’ll find your home away from home. The open-plan living/dining area is dual aspect with views over Loughrigg to the rear and the village to the front.  Designed for relaxation and socialising, featuring a comfy sofa and a dining table for four. The separate modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, from crockery and cutlery to an oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and dishwasher. Laundry room with washer.

Comfortable Bedrooms

Tyson Place features two inviting double bedrooms, each thoughtfully furnished and both en-suite. The master bedroom has a king size bed, TV (please note, logins are required) and balcony with views towards Loughrigg.   The second bedroom has a double bed.  The bedrooms provide a cosy and restful space to unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful Lake District.

Stylish Bathrooms

Both bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms with a rainfall shower, hand basin, WC and towel radiator. On the first floor there is an additional bathroom with double ended roll top bath, WC, basin and heated towel rail.

Outside Space

There is a serene balcony off the master bedroom at Tyson Place, offers stunning elevated views over the rooftops of Ambleside towards Loughrigg and the surrounding fells. The small bistro set invites you to sit with a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine while soaking up the classic Lake District scenery. It’s a quiet spot that perfectly blends village charm with breath-taking views.

  • Balcony: Small balcony with bistro set for two off the master bedroom, with views towards Loughrigg over the rooftops of Ambleside.

Once you’ve checked out and we’ve made sure everything’s as lovely as when you arrived, we’ll promptly release the hold, freeing up those funds for you. It’s all part of making your stay smooth and secure.

The Windermere train station is just a short ride away, making your journey smooth and stress-free. And if you’re driving, don’t worry, plenty of paid car parks are just around the corner.

Not to mention, it’s a walker’s dream! Set off on foot for a scenic hike up Loughrigg Fell for panoramic views, or take a leisurely stroll to Stock Ghyll Force, a beautiful waterfall right on the edge of town. For something a bit more challenging, Wansfell Pike offers breathtaking vistas of the surrounding fells and valleys.
