Once a farm carpenter’s workshop, Wansfell View now stands proudly at the end of Hawkshead’s main street, just a short, level stroll from the village square. With cosy pubs, independent shops, and cafés right on your doorstep, and the fells just beyond, this is the perfect spot to enjoy the best of village life and the great outdoors.

Inside

Set across two floors, Wansfell View is a traditional Lakeland end-terrace that’s been thoughtfully updated to create a welcoming, social home for family and friends.

Step inside to a spacious hallway with room for coats and boots, leading through to the bright, well-equipped kitchen and dining area with seating for eight, the heart of the house. The main sitting room has comfy sofas, a Smart TV, decorative fireplace, and views towards the surrounding fells.

A second snug provides extra space to unwind, ideal for movie nights or for kids to have their own corner.

The ground floor also includes a double bedroom, and a shower room with basin and WC, ideal for elderly relatives or those with mobility issues.  There is a handy boot room/laundry to the rear of the cottage leading out to the back garden.

Upstairs, you’ll find a king-size bedroom with generous storage and fell views, and two double bedrooms with a lovely outlook. Two additional shower rooms, both with basins, WCs, and heated towel rails, mean there’s plenty of space for everyone.

Outside

After a day exploring the fells or wandering the cobbled lanes of Hawkshead, relax in the private hot tub or enjoy dinner outdoors in the fresh air. There’s also safe storage for bikes and private parking for two cars on the driveway, with two further two spaces to the rear.  EV Charger in the driveway – payable on site by App. Please bring your own lead.

Tucked right in the heart of Hawkshead, Wansfell View offers the best of both worlds, peaceful village living with cafés, pubs, and shops just steps away, and scenic walks straight from your door. From here, you can easily explore Tarn Hows, Claife Heights, or venture over to Coniston and Ambleside, all just a short drive away.

With its central location, spacious layout, and homely touches throughout, Wansfell View is a wonderful base for families or groups looking to relax, reconnect, and soak up the beauty of the Lake District.

💳 Damage Deposit: At Laik, we place a £200 deposit hold on your card as a safety measure, ensuring a carefree stay for both you and us. This isn’t a charge, just a temporary hold. Expect this to be set up either the day before you arrive or on your check-in date.

Once you’ve checked out and we’ve made sure everything’s as lovely as when you arrived, we’ll promptly release the hold, freeing up those funds for you. It’s all part of making your stay smooth and secure.

  • Some property services may take place during your stay. The hot tub is checked daily for chemical levels, and you might also spot the window cleaner (once a month) or gardener (every few weeks) outside. They won’t need access to the property itself, but you may see them around.

Where you'll be

Hawkshead is one of those villages that feels like it’s stepped out of a storybook, cobbled lanes, whitewashed cottages, and proper old-world charm. Tucked between Windermere and Coniston, it’s a brilliant base for walking, pub lunches, and exploring the quieter side of the Lakes. No cars in the village centre means it’s peaceful too, just the sound of boots on stone and the occasional church bell.
