In 2027, the Grand Depart takes place in Great Britain.
The first three stages happen in Scotland, England, and Wales from 2 to 4 July. Stages 1 and 2 touch the Lake District in Cumbria.

UK Tour de France Key Dates and Stages
The UK stages for the 2027 Tour de France are:
- Stage 1: 2 July 2027 – Edinburgh to Carlisle, 184 km.
- Stage 2: 3 July 2027 – Keswick to Liverpool, 223 km.
- Stage 3: 4 July 2027 – Welshpool to Cardiff, 223 km.
Stages 1 and 2 relate to the Lake District.
Stage 1 ends in Carlisle, near the north of the area.
Stage 2 starts in Keswick and goes south through the region.

Breakdown of the Route Through the Lake District
Stage 1 ends in Carlisle on 2 July 2027. This town sits on the northern edge of the Lake District.
Stage 2 on 3 July 2027 starts in Keswick.
The route heads south past Thirlmere, Grasmere, Rydal Water, Ambleside, Windermere, the Lyth Valley, and Milnthorpe.
It then leaves for Lancashire. This path covers the central parts of the Lake District. Roads may close, and crowds will gather.
