The space

Enter the recently renovated Kendal cottage, and you’ll immediately feel the warmth and charm of a traditional Lake District home fused with modern luxuries. The ground floor hosts a newly fitted kitchen equipped with all the essentials you need to cook up a storm. A dining area sits adjacent, perfect for sharing meals and creating memories.

The heart of the cottage is the cosy living room, boasting a log burner perfect for those cooler Lake District evenings. Comfy seating invites you to relax after a day of exploration, maybe with a good book or a movie.

Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a double bed, both designed with your comfort in mind. Quality linens and soft lighting ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The bathroom is fitted with modern fixtures and a underfloor heating, providing a touch of luxury to your stay. Imagine unwinding here after a long day of hiking or sightseeing!

Outdoors, you’ll find a quaint back garden, a lovely spot to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning sun or a glass of wine under the stars.

💳 Damage Deposit: At Laik, we place a £200 deposit hold on your card as a safety measure, ensuring a carefree stay for both you and us. This isn’t a charge, just a temporary hold. Expect this to be set up either the day before you arrive or on your check-in date.

Once you’ve checked out and we’ve made sure everything’s as lovely as when you arrived, we’ll promptly release the hold, freeing up those funds for you. It’s all part of making your stay smooth and secure.

🔥Cottage has a cosy log burner, perfect for snug evenings in. We don’t provide logs, but you can easily pick them up from a local shop.

🐕We love your furry friends too, but kindly ask that all pets stay downstairs to keep our upstairs fresh and clean for all guests.

Welcome to the neighbourhood around 59 Windermere Road in Kendal! You’re on the doorstep of the Lakes, but there’s plenty going on right here. You’re just a quick 10-minute walk from the town centre, where you can check out local shops, grab a bite in cosy cafés, and maybe even wander up to Kendal Castle.

Got some energy to burn? Kendal Green is just around the corner, perfect for walks, jogs or letting your dog have a play. And speaking of around the corner, there’s a nifty little corner shop for any quick needs.

 

Getting around

Parking’s on the street, but don’t worry, there’s plenty around. And despite being on a main road, the place is quiet and chilled. So, after a day out exploring the Lakes, you can come back and properly relax.

Getting to 59 Windermere Road from Oxenholme Train Station is a cinch. A quick 10-minute taxi ride will get you here, or if you prefer public transit, hop on a local bus. They frequently run between the train station and Kendal town centre, from which it’s a pleasant 10-minute stroll to the house.

Fancy exploring the Lakes? There’s a main bus route just across the street that’ll whisk you into the heart of the Lake District’s most beautiful locations.
